SAD NEWS: It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our faithful parishioner, Tommy Gibbons. Tommy was well known to most of you and was a regular at our 10am Mass. He will be will be sorely missed. Tommy will be received into the church on Thursday 22nd May at 6pm, and his funeral mass will be on Friday, 23rd May at 10.00am, and thereafter to Daldowie. Please keep Tommy and his family in your prayers.
BAPTISM: Today Ruby Anne will receive the Sacrament of Baptism. May God Bless her. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
ANNUAL LINN CEMETERY MASS is planned for Saturday 31 May at 3pm. If the weather is inclement then the Mass for the Dead will be in nearby St Margaret Mary’s Church Building (G45 9NT). St Thomas More: “I pray that we meet merrily in heaven.”
THE WORLD UNION OF CATHOLIC TEACHERS (UMEC-WUCT) is committed to supporting Catholic educators across the world, and particularly those teaching in Catholic and nondenominational schools and universities. During the Jubilee Year 2025 this survey aims to learn more about Catholic teachers. We invite you to scan the QR code and complete the questionnaire to help understand the identity of the Catholic teacher. It should only take 5-10 minutes of your time. The results of the survey will be presented at the Jubilee conference of the Education, in November 2025 and published on the UME-WUCT webpage. Please respond promptly, by the end of May at the latest.
JUBILEE OF HOPE Day Retreat on Saturday 7 June, 11am- 3pm at St Bartholomew’s Church Building, Hall & Grounds (Theme will be “Hope”) and then Saturday, 14 June, 11am- 3pm at St Margaret Mary’s Church Building, Hall and Grounds (Theme: “Sacred Heart of Jesus.” Both will be led by a Priest from the Congregation: “Sons of Mary, Mother of Mercy." PRO-LIFE MASS: The monthly Pro-Life Mass is on Wednesday, 21st May at 7.30pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER. Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea in the hall afterwards – all welcome. The celebrant will be Fr Charles Coyle.
EVENINGS OF REFLECTION IN PERSON AT THE ISC: Dates: 29 May; 28 August and 13 November – time 6.30 till 8.30pm. Venue: Ignatian Spirituality centre, 35 Scott St, Glasgow, G3 6PE. As we move through the seasons there is a natural sense of change in the air. In a time of personal change and transition and often before concrete plans emerge as John O'Donohue puts it "your soul senses the world that awaits you". This is an evening giving an opportunity to reflect on God's constant call to newness and growth. If you are able to make a donation on the night that would be most welcome, however please do not let finance stop you from coming along
