WEEKLY BULLETIN – 2nd AUGUST 2026  (18th SUNDAY OF THE YEAR)

FIRST THURSDAY: This Thursday, 6th August is the Transfiguration of The Lord and the First Thursday of the month.  There will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament after the 10am Mass until 12 noon when  we are asked to come and pray for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.

This exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will resume at 6pm before Polish Mass at 7pm and next after Mass until 7pm on Friday.  The church will be open during all this time for anyone who would like to come and pray or sit for a while.

AGAP at the Fringe: AGAP Theatre returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with the sell-out show “Gaudi: God’s Architect” from 7th-15th August at 8.35pm. Venue 53, Surgeons Hall, Nicholson Street. The play has had a successful run throughout parishes nationwide, telling the story of Venerable Antoni Gaudi, the visionary architect behind Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia church.

 Mass for the Queenship of Mary: The annual Mass for the Queenship of Mary will take place in St Brigid’s, 12 Prospecthill Crescent, Toryglen, G42 0JN on Saturday 22 August 2026. The Rosary will begin at 3.30 pm, followed by Mass at 4.00 pm. All welcome.

 SCIAF’s ‘Celebrating Global Stories and Textiles’ event, Saturday 22nd August: Join SCIAF for a free community arts event in St Paul’s Parish hall, Shettleston, including film, conversation and creative fabric design. SCIAF is delighted to have received funding from National Lottery Awards for All Scotland for Celebrating Global Stories and Textiles - a free community art event celebrating international connections between Scotland and Zambia. The event will explore Zambian chitenge fabric and Scottish tartan as “talking textiles” that can carry stories of identity, values, belonging and community. Open to adults and children aged 10+ with a free crèche available for younger children.  Concert: The Glasgow Phoenix Choir is delighted to be performing a concert in support of a safe-house in Zambia caring for young homeless people – Mercy House Scholarship Fund.  This will take place on Saturday 12th September, 2026 in Torrance Parish Church, School Road, Torrance G64 4BZ at 7:30pm.
