SEA SUNDAY 2026: TODAY IS SEA SUNDAY when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. The Second Collection today will be taken up to enable Stella Maris (Apostleship of the Sea) to continue its important work, so please give generously. Thank you. NOVENA TO ST ANNE: Our nine day Novena to St. Anne, our Patron Saint, begins this Friday 17th July until her Feast Day on 26th July. The novena will be said every weekday after 10am Mass, and after Saturday and Sunday Masses. Why not take this opportunity to come and pray for a special intention close to your heart, and also for our Parish. A box will be put at the back of the church for your intentions.
World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly: Everyone is warmly invited to a special celebration of the World Day of Grandparents and the Elderly at Carfin Grotto on Sunday 26 July 2026. Bishop John Keenan will celebrate Holy Mass at 3:00pm, as we give thanks for the invaluable contribution of grandparents and elderly to our families, parishes and communities. Please bring your grandparents, family members and friends. All are welcome.
HOLIDAYS: To all of you going on holiday, I hope you have a lovely time, and to all who are staying at home, enjoy the lovely weather.
Ecumenical Prayer Service on the occasion of the Commonwealth Games: Glasgow Churches Together and Run the Race Glasgow. To mark Glasgow’s welcome to the Commonwealth Games and to pray for unity, friendship and peace among all peoples. Sunday, 26th July 2026 at 3.00 pm in St Andrew’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Clyde Street. Church Leaders, Civic Leaders, representatives of the Trades House and Merchants House, congregations, athletes and their families are warmly invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. RSVP
Pro-Life Mass: The monthly Pro-Life Mass will take place on Wednesday, 15th July at 7.30pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER. Adoration begins at 6.15pm. Tea in the hall afterwards – all welcome. The celebrant will be Father Alex Strachan.
Pilgrimage for Life 2026: The annual Pilgrimage for Life will take place at Carfin Grotto on Saturday 1 August 2026. Led by Bishop John Keenan, the day offers an opportunity for prayer, reflection and witness to the dignity and sanctity of every human life. The programme includes:12:00 noon – Holy Mass; 2:00pm – Eucharistic Adoration; 2:15pm – Stations of the Cross; 2:45pm – Divine Mercy Chaplet; 3:30pm – Holy Rosary. All are welcome.
