SPECIAL COLLECTION: ‘DAY FOR LIFE:’ The second collection today will be taken up for the work of the apostolate of the defence of life from conception to natural death. Please give generously.
Pope Leo's message: "His Holiness Pope Leo XIV sends prayerful good wishes to those participating in the 2026 Day for Life to be celebrated by the Bishops’ Conferences of England and Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.His Holiness was pleased to learn of the theme chosen for this year, focused on the wonder of the full humanity of the child in the womb, as well as of your efforts to support mothers and fathers who have suffered the loss of an infant. Indeed, as he recently reminded us in the Encyclical Magnifica humanitas, from the very moment of conception every human being is endowed with an infinite dignity “simply by virtue of existing, of having been willed, created and loved by God” (No 52). This divine love fills the life of every person with meaning, and, far from ending with death, invites us to a new fullness in eternity.His Holiness prays that all parents grieving the loss of a child, especially an infant, may find comfort and peace in the knowledge of God’s love for them and for their child, “for to him all of them are alive” (Lk 20:38). It is likewise his hope that these parents find the support they need in the Church community and especially in a life nourished by prayer and by the Sacraments.In thanking you for your continued commitment to bear witness to the marvellous gift of life in all its grandeur and inherent dignity, the Holy Father assures all taking part of his prayerful closeness and cordially imparts his Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of comfort, strength and peace in Christ."

Concert Celebrating the Completion of the Renovation of St Peter’s Partick, the Ensemble Harmonia Mundi will present Dietrich Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri in Saint Peter’s, Partick at 4.00 pm on 28th June, the Feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. The performance brings together artists from Scotland, Italy and Hungary, Widely regarded as one of the masterpieces of seventeenth-century sacred music, Membra Jesu Nostri is a deeply moving cycle of seven cantatas reflecting on the Passion of Christ through music. Admission is free, with donations welcomed.
St Gerard Majella: The Redemptorists around the world are celebrating the 300th anniversary of the birth of St Gerard Majella, an Italian lay-brother popularly invoked as The Mother's Saint. As part of this his relics will be visiting St Patrick's Church, Edinburgh on Saturday 18th July, with the entrance of the relics at 10am, time for personal prayer, and a Mass at 12:30pm. March for Life UK 2026: In partnership with SPUC you are invited to join Bishop John Keenan on his coach to London for March for Life UK 2026. Departing midnight Friday 4 September from Paisley St Mirin's Cathedral, with a pickup 12.30am at Glasgow St. Andrew's Cathedral. Arriving in London at Emmanuel Centre approx. 7.30/8am Saturday 5 September for the Exhibition, Mass, talks and stall. SCIAF Shield returns on Saturday 1st August 2026 - Football. Faith. Fundraising. Put your faith into action and take part in the SCIAF Shield – our knock-out tournament that uses football to raise money for the world’s poorest people. The SCIAF Shield is a 5-a-side tournament that brings together 16 teams for an exciting afternoon of community and sport. This year, funds raised by the SCIAF Shield will go towards our Emergency Hunger Appeal, to provide emergency food packages and help people grow more food in places devastated by floods and droughts in Africa.
