WEEKLY BULLETIN – 15th FEBRUARY 2026 (6th SUNDAY IN YEAR)

ASH WEDNESDAY:  This Wednesday, 18th February is Ash Wednesday and is a day of Fasting and Abstinence.  Ashes will be distributed at 10am Mass and in the evening at 7pm Mass. “ I would be grateful if parents could make sure their children come to Mass for their ashes as schools are closed.”  STATIONS OF THE CROSS will take place every Wednesday during Lent at 9.30am before 10am Mass.    Please try and come along.

SEASON OF LENT: Ash Wednesday begins Lent when we are asked to prepare for the death and resurrection of Christ.  We are asked to make sacrifices during these 40 days by fasting, praying more and being more charitable.  Maybe come to morning mass during the week sometime, or join the Rosary Group at 9.30am. SCIAF Wee Boxes will be given out.  We are asked to try and fill these during Lent.

PLEASE NOTE:  During Lent the Second Collection every weekend will be taken up for Sick and Retired Priests, except for the Fourth Sunday which will be for Mission Sunday.

Pro-Life Mass: This month’s Pro-Life Mass falls on Ash Wednesday, 18th February. Mass will therefore be at the earlier time of 7pm at Holy Cross, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER. There will be Adoration from 6pm. Please come along and start your Lenten journey praying for the cause of life.

Nightfever Glasgow:  'Come and see! (John 1,46) Friday 27 February 2026 from  7.00 – 10.30pm in St Aloysius’ Church, Garnethill. Nightfever is an evening of Eucharistic Adoration and evangelisation. Teams of young people (18+) head out onto the streets of Glasgow, inviting passers-by into St Aloysius’ Church to light a candle and spend a moment in quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Confessions available throughout the evening. Compline and Benediction 10pm. Please come along and invite your friends. Volunteers needed for music, hospitality, and street outreach ministries.
