PREPARING FOR LENT
Lent will be starting soon and we are asked to think of what we can do during this season. This is a Jubilee Year and we are asked to make more of an effort. Ash Wednesday is 5th March and we hope to have Stations of the Cross every Wednesday during Lent. More information next week.
ASSISTED SUICIDE CONCERNS
Proposals to legalise assisted suicide present a challenge to the future care of our family, friends, loved ones, and neighbours. If we do not respond, state assisted suicide will become part of our NHS and bring about changes that many in the population are not be fully aware of. Many people including some MPs, think that the Bills at Holyrood and Westminster will simply allow an act of mercy for a few, with no real consequence for the rest of the population. Evidence from other countries however, show that through time, these Bills will change the practice of health care for all of us in ways which are unsafe, unfair and unnecessary. They will undermine the welfare and rights of many, especially the vulnerable.
Please come to the meeting in Our Lady of Good Counsel, Dennistoun on Wed 12th March at 7.30pm. There you will be given facts that will help you share your concern with your MP or MSP. If you have never done this before, the meeting will help you to act. Please don’t miss the chance to make a difference, and bring a friend or family member
